Chios (c) 2003

This island has had many names througth the centuries. It has been called the Snake island,
the island of Pines, the Long island becouse of its shape and it finally came to be called
Chios. It is also called Island of the Mastix.

Monastery Agios Minas, situated on top of a hill, where in the year 1822 turkish slaughterd nearly 6000 people. Bones and skulls are stored in six wall closets in a chapel. This is the traditional way to decorate his home, called Xystá.
